A Smarter Way to Outfit an Army Battalion

When 1st Lieutenant Fernandez of the 122nd Aviation Support Battalion reached out to Solid Products, he had a clear goal in mind: offer battalion-branded apparel that Soldiers and their families could actually wear—and make the entire process as easy as possible.
Stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the battalion was looking for a way to provide high-quality, command-approved gear without taking on the logistical headache of handling orders, collecting payments, or dealing with leftover inventory. They also hoped to raise funds in the process.
A Simple Solution With Big Impact
To meet those needs, we built a custom online merch store tailored for the 122nd. The shop featured eight carefully selected apparel items, each available in multiple colors. Soldiers and their families could browse and place orders directly, choosing the styles and sizes that fit them best. We handled everything behind the scenes—payments, production, and delivery.
Because we kept the ordering process online and automated, the command didn’t have to manage anything. No paper forms, no chasing down cash or checks, and no inventory to store. Just one clean, simple link they could share across their network.
Raising Funds Without the Hassle
In addition to simplifying the ordering process, the battalion was able to raise $500 during the first store’s six-week ordering window. The fundraising markup was built into the product pricing, so buyers never saw it, and the check was in the mail shortly after the store closed.
Smooth Process, Great Results
The project moved quickly. We built the store in about two weeks, and orders were accepted for six weeks—a bit longer than usual to give everyone a chance to participate. Once the store closed, we had all items printed and shipped within two weeks. Every piece was decorated in-house for quality and consistency.
Feedback from the battalion was overwhelmingly positive. They appreciated the smooth process, the quality of the gear, and the flexibility for soldiers and families to pay using their preferred method. Even better, they didn’t have to worry about extra inventory or reordering logistics.
A Repeat Success
The process went so well that just a few months later, the 122nd opened a second store with us. That follow-up launch was just as successful, proving that a well-run merch store can offer more than just great-looking apparel—it can build community, raise funds, and reduce stress all at once.
One Final Touch
To top it all off, 1st Lieutenant Fernandez was recently spotted wearing one of the battalion’s shirts during a workout. That’s the kind of brand pride we love to see.
